MK Asaf Zamir on a Visit to the MDA National Operation Center
"The whole people of Israel owe you thanks for the work you do here"
MK Asaf Zamir (Blue and White), visited the MDA National Operation Center in Kiryat Ono on Sunday and was accompanied by MDA Director General Eli Bin and senior members of the organization. Zamir was given a comprehensive tour of the center and met with EMTs and paramedics. In order to learn about the activities led by MDA as the national rescue organization and as at the forefront of the fight against the spread of the Corona virus in Israel.
During the tour, MK Zamir got acquainted with MDA's routine and emergency activities and received an overview of the organization's response to the Corona crisis, the system of tests and samples conducted by MDA in cooperation with the HMOs and the Home Front Command, during which about 3 million people were sampled. The Knesset member also heard about MDA's blood services activities, including the only public umbilical cord blood bank in Israel, and about the system of plasma donations from Corona patients who recovered for the treatment of patients in moderate and severe condition, and was familiar with the National Human Milk Bank's activities.
In addition, MDA officials presented MK Zamir with the “MDA in the Community” project, which is expected to reduce the congestion in the emergency rooms by 30%, and presented him with the special vehicles used by MDA, including a unique intensive care bus, MDA helicopters and special trailers that can get everywhere for Corona samples.
MK Zamir toured MDA's 101 emergency center and showed great interest in MDA volunteer activities with an emphasis on youth, along with activities in the ultra-Orthodox and Arab sectors. In addition, he was exposed to the many technologies developed by MDA to save lives and was impressed by the deployment project of the defibrillators that MDA promotes throughout the country.
