800 French High School Students Experience MDA's Life-Saving Mission
Around 800 high school seniors from France have arrived in Israel as part of the "Bac Blanc Blue" project, which is in collaboration with "The Israel Experience" organization
This visit, organized by the MDA Friends Association in France, included tours of the MDA headquarters in Ramla, where hundreds of young participants took part in various activities.
During the two-week project, daily groups of approximately 80 students participated in special activities at MDA's facility in Ramla. The students received brief first aid training, learning how to handle emergencies with essential techniques such as CPR, bandaging, and responding to choking incidents. After the training, they attended a lecture about MDA's operations on October 7, 2023, during Operation Iron Swords. Additionally, they toured the blood bank laboratories, where they observed the dedicated work of MDA's blood services staff.
During the tour, students had a unique opportunity to experience Israeli culture and learn about the organization. They were introduced to Magen David Adom's (MDA) specialized vehicles, including intensive care ambulances. The students volunteered in the logistics division and supply department, preparing IV kits, assembling EMT bags, and assisting the logistics team with various tasks. Through this experience, they gained firsthand insight into MDA's operational infrastructure.
Victor Wintz, CEO of MDA Friends in France: "Magen David Adom is proud to partner in this flagship program, offering high school students an educational, unique, and unforgettable experience in Israel. This is more than just a regular visit; the encounter with MDA is a defining moment. Young people not only learn about our values of solidarity, commitment, and responsibility but also acquire practical first aid skills.
This partnership further opens up future opportunities. For those interested in making Aliyah, MDA provides a unique chance to specialize or volunteer in a life-saving organization that embodies the spirit of mutual assistance. We take pride in building bridges between Jewish youth in France and Israel while imparting vital skills and a message of hope for the future. Together, we are fostering a strong and committed community.
Eli Bin, MDA Director General: "At Magen David Adom, we are proud to host and share our knowledge and experience with 800 youth who have come to learn about the State of Israel and MDA, Israel's national rescue organization. The "Bac Bleu Blanc" program offers an excellent opportunity to equip young people with essential first-aid skills and to showcase MDA's work. Through this vital training, we provide youth with life-saving tools and a glimpse into the value of volunteering and the importance of first aid. I would like to thank "The Israeli Experience" organization and the MDA Friends Association in France for this significant collaboration, which enables us to promote MDA's values and advance the field of emergency medicine.
