Chanukah Dedications – Giving the Tools to Make Miracles

03.01.2019 09:06

During Chanukah this year 2 fantastic dedications took place welcoming one Intensive Care Unit and one Medicycle into the ranks of MDA.

The first dedication took place on December 3rd, the second night of Chanukah, where a MICU donated by Barry and Batya Segal, the founders of Vision for Israel and the Joseph Storehouse Trust.  The MICU will save lives in Katzrin located in the North of Israel.

The dedication took place in front of 50 holocaust survivors and friends and family at the newly opened Millennium Centre in Modi’in. Guests of honour included Eitan Na’eh, Ambassador of Israel to Turkey and former Deputy Ambassador of Israel in the UK. After the dedication, everyone joined in lighting the Menorah together and singing Chanukah festive songs.  It was a truly memorable occasion as all those in attendance were told about the activity of the previous lifesaving vehicles donated by Barry & Batya's Vision for Israel, specifically that over 1,000 women in labour were assisted.

On 5th December, David Domb, Helen Davenport and Salley-Jayne Murray dedicated a state-of-the-art Medicycle to the people of Israel at MDA's Blood Bank in Tel Hashomer.

The three Running Lifesavers chose MDA UK as their charity of choice for the 2018 Virgin London Marathon. Due to their dedication and ambitious targets, they collectively raised enough funds to purchase a Medicycle operated by Dr. Roi B. as a first responder in the Ramat Gan area.

Friends and family joined the dedication and had a chance to meet Prof Eilat Shinar, Director of MDA Blood Services in Israel.

These 2 wonderful vehicles given on Chanukah will enable MDA to make new lifesaving miracles happen each and every day of the year!
