MDA Hosts Solidarity Evening in Honor of Hanukkah
MDA Friends Societies and supporters around the world participated in a special solidarity evening held on the fourth evening of Hanukkah, (14.12.2020) in an exciting demonstration of support for the organization.
With anti-Semitism on the rise around the world and social distancing guidelines in place thousands attended a special Hanukkah celebration.
The special evening was moderated by Yonatan Yagodovsky, Director of MDA’s International Department. The evening was dedicated in memory of Rabbi Jonathan Sacks z”l and attended by MDA Director General Eli Bin who lit the 4th candle at MDA’s National Operations Center and thanked MDA’s generous supporters around the world.
Viewers were treated to a speech by renowned Israeli journalist and personality Sivan Rahav-Meir who spoke of the philosophy of Rabbi Sacks Z”L and lessons learned from him. Additionally, Professor Eilat Shinar, Director of MDA’s Blood Services thanked supporters and spoke about the convalescent plasma donation program which benefits COVID-19 patients in moderate to severe condition.
The evening was broadcast live on Facebook and YouTube, and received positive reviews. During Hanukkah, the video was also screened on the social media channels of the various Friends Societies.
