Last week more than 40 ambassadors and diplomats from around the world visited Magen David Adom’s headquarters in Ramla, getting a closer look at how Israel’s national emergency organization operates and how it responds in real time to emergencies across the country.

The visit, held together with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ambassadors’ Club in Israel, brought representatives from multiple countries to see MDA’s work up close.

During the tour, they were introduced to how MDA operates day to day, responding to emergencies in cities, small towns, and remote areas, while working alongside other national emergency services.

One of the highlights was MDA’s National Emergency dispatch center, where calls from across the country are managed in real time. Using advanced systems, teams can quickly locate incidents, assess situations, and send help within seconds.

The delegation also learned about the scale of MDA’s operations, from ambulances and mobile intensive care units to motorcycle responders and a nationwide network of volunteers who are often first on scene.

They also visited MDA’s National Marcus Blood Bank & Blood Services Center, which supplies 95% of the blood across Israel and plays a critical role both in routine care and during emergencies.

Throughout the visit, the ambassadors spoke with MDA leadership and teams, gaining a better understanding of how the organization has been operating under constant pressure, especially in recent months.

Many of them said what stood out most wasn’t just the technology, but the people.

The visit also opened the door for continued cooperation, with MDA sharing its experience and knowledge with partners around the world.
