About the Project

NO FEAR website

Project NO FEAR (Network Of practitioners For Emergency medicAl systems and cRitical care) is a 5-year (June 2018 – May 2023) Coordination and Support Action project that brought together a pan-European and beyond network of emergency medical care practitioners, suppliers, decision and policy makers to collaborate and exchange knowledge, good practices, and lessons learned. Members of the network had the opportunity to work together and collaborate to develop a common understanding of the innovation potential that fills operational gaps and pinpoint areas for future research. This multi-disciplinary, multi-national, and multi-sectorial collaboration supported by virtual tools, including the NO-FEAR platform and networking events (e.g., workshops, demonstrations, exercises) every 6 months.

The NO-FEAR project was comprised of six work packages. Three work packages were dedicated to the three pillars of the project: acute care of the patient (WP3), acute care operations in security related incidents (WP4), and training of personnel (WP5). The activities undertaken in the three pillars were supported by the networks and the advisory board (WP2), the analysis of the ethical human, social and legal issues (WP1), the innovation, standard and procurement activities (WP6) and disseminated by WP2.

In this project MDA was involved in all the work packages and was the lead partner for WP4. This work package concerned with acute care operations in security incidents. WP4 covered the topics of: preparedness, planning and coordination with the authorities before the incident; calling, activation of system, scene management and on-site coordination; and transportation and coordination with treatment facilities.
