Information for those who complete their National Service
Information for girls who perform their National Service in MDA:
(Note: the text refers to "girls" for convenience, but also applies to the male members.)
Regarding girls on their first year of service:
Congratulations on your admission to National Service in MDA. You have begun your service, settled in your designated placement, acquired the skills and even made some friends. Before you even had time to notice it, the year has ended. What now?
Two options are available to you:
The first option is to complete the National Service and go on with your life as a civilian. In case you choose this option, you must inform the coordinator of the association where you are registered. A few weeks before the final date, you will be invited to the Human Recourses Department where the Coordinator of National Service in MDA and the coordinator of the Association in which you are a member, will give you an explanation about the rights you are entitled to upon discharge from MDA and the various options available to you.
In addition and no less important, we will calculate the number of hours and days during which you were absent from service (excluding vacations and sick leave days to which you are entitled under the law) and make a decision regarding the number of hours or days you have to complete. After setting the final date (including the days you have to complete) you will return to your posting place, where you will complete the missing days.
At the end of the year, a ceremony is held at the branch / region / department where you will receive a certificate indicating the completion of National Service in MDA and also a certification in the same subject from the Association where you are registered.
The second option is to continue in MDA for a second year of service:
If you choose this option, you can continue serving in your current posting place or move to another posting place, depending on the system's needs and taking your wishes into account. You don't need to go through the whole screening process again (as long as there are no changes in your personal information and bank account, in which case, you must inform the coordinator in the association where you are registered and the Human Resources Coordinator in MDA) and can continue with your work in MDA.
About the advantages of serving a second year in MDA you can learn from the coordinator in the association of which you are a member, from the Coordinator of National Service in MDA and also prom the Center for IDF Veteran Inquiries where you will receive an explanatory paper on the benefits granted to those who continue with their service for a second year.
