Magen David Adom actively encourages ties with individuals and associations around the world. MDA has Friends Societies in 17 countries spread over five continents. These societies organize public community activities and raise donations on behalf of MDA in order to establish and renovate stations and acquire ambulances and medical equipment. Several associations also sponsor computerization and upgrades to our modern data systems, including development programs such as "Command & Control." They also contribute to the training and professional refresher courses for MDA staff and volunteers.
Throughout the year, Magen David Adom hosts many visitors and representatives from the various Friends Societies abroad. These visitors come to Israel to participate in ambulance dedication ceremonies and to tour MDA stations nationwide. MDA personnel and visitors from Friends Societies often form close ties as a result of these visits.
